I love my job because
I like to deal with clients. I love the creative aspects of the profession, dealing and sparring with entrepreneurs, and the combination of the law combined with numbers. I have an affinity with (start-up) growth companies, investors in the technology sector and middle market companies where succession also plays a major role (e.g. real estate companies).
In my opinion, good tax advice is
Creative, clear and to the point. It means looking for opportunities to abide by the law while optimizing the situation for the customer. In other words, being creative within legal frameworks in a way that the client understands.
After working at PwC for 16 years, and for four years as a partner, I came to the conclusion that my entrepreneurial spirit could never be used to its full potential there. So in 2008, I left PwC with eight others to take a new step in my career. Since then, our team has expanded. We put quality, openness, enjoyment and development first.
Advice to newcomers to the profession
Always try to stay creative within the constraints. Personal entrepreneurship is important here. Keep developing. Keep learning.
