John studied organisation studies at Tilburg University, tax law at Nyenrode University and business law at Radboud University. John has his own business in estate planning and taxes. In addition, he is an experienced lecturer in tax and civil law to professionals such as estate planners, tax lawyers and notary. At STP, John advises high net-worth individuals, entrepreneurs and their relatives on tax as well as legal issues concerning their estate planning.
For me, good estate planning is
First of all, estate planning means understanding the underlying emotional context in which decisions are made. Therefore, it is important not merely to aim for tax optimization, but rather to find a fit between the clients needs and the related taxes.
Why STP?
Working with motivated professionals in an informal setting inspires me. At STP, I recognize the eagerness to go the extra mile for clients and colleagues.
Advice to newcomers to the profession
Our work is complicated. Make sure you don’t loose your client along the way. So try to keep it simple and understandable.
